    A coin probably dating from 88-89 CE has been found. It may have been lost in the amphitheater foundations in the early 90s.

    Radiocarbon dating of the double dovetails has enabled us to establish through statistical analysis that the amphitheater was built before 130 CE.

    The Emperor Nerva, who reigned from 96 to 98 CE, did not see the Nîmes Amphitheater completed.
